Biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) removal is critical to wastewater treatment. The LemTec™ Biological Treatment Process optimizes BOD removal to meet limits previously thought unattainable in aerated lagoon facilities. Excess BOD causes algae, cyanobacteria and tetrad growth. As a result, stringent regulartory effluent limits can’t be met, and additional issues occur including an increase in offensive odors and extended treatment time. The LET approach to each unique project ensures that clients receive a customized design based on their unique objectives and parameters. We tailor our designs and include the best in treatment technologies to provide a comprehensive, innovative solution.
The LemTec™ system design minimizes temperature fluctuations and prevents the adverse treatment effects of peak flow events. The system’s low horsepower is efficient in both aeration and mixing and requires a smaller footprint for typical detention times of 12 days or less.
The LemTec™ system removes BOD to levels below 30 mg/L in the complete mix and partial mix cells, with final polishing to below 10 mg/L in the tertiary treatment step of the Lemna Polishing Reactor (LPR). Effluent results are guaranteed to meet permit requirements.
Expertise as a leader in this industry for 30+ years, an arsenal of cutting-edge technologies and a groundbreaking approach set LET apart by delivering optimized solutions for wastewater applications including BOD Removal to meet clients’ objectives efficiently and cost-effectively. We maximize LET’s innovative technologies as stand-alone solutions or use the Advanced Integrated Lagoon Technologies (AILT) approach to design and create th best process with technologies integrated as components that successfully meet every challenge from influent to effluent.
